(AllHipHop News) Jatavia “JT” Johnson is free. One half of the City Girls had been behind bars since June 2018 for credit card fraud. She’s now out and reunited with Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee.
In celebration of her newfound freedom, the Quality Control Music duo dropped a new song titled “JT First Day Out” under the City Girls’ name. The South Florida rapper rhymes about arriving right on time for the “season change.”
Yung Miami continued to advance the City Girls brand while JT was locked up. The group scored two platinum, Top 40 hits over the last ten months with “Act Up” and “Twerk” featuring Cardi B. Both tracks appear on the 2018 album Girl Code.
The music video for “Twerk” topped 100 million views on YouTube. Vocals from the City Girls were also used on Drake’s #1 smash “In My Feelings.”
As far as a new project from JT and Yung Miami, their fans can apparently look for a body of work next year. Last month, Miami said, “We’re gonna save it for 2020 when JT comes home. When she comes home, we’ll work on another album that we’re gonna drop, hopefully for Spring Break.”
