Crooked Cop Convicted Of Assisting Rap Drug Boss

A former Philadelphia police officer is expected to be sentenced to at least 12.5 years in prison for allegedly tipping off rapping drug kingpin Alton “Ace Capone” Coles.   Rickie Durham, 44, was convicted today (September 24) of obstruction of justice and one count of giving a false statements to law officers.   Federal prosecutors accused Durham of tipping a friend off about a pending raid, with the knowledge that the friend would warn Coles.   According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Durham was 12 year-veteran before being suspended earlier this year after his association with Coles was revealed.   Coles was the CEO of Philadelphia-based Hip-Hop label, Take Down Records.   He was convicted of running a $25 million dollar drug ring and sentenced to life in prison under Pennsylvania’s “Kingpin” law.
