(AllHipHop News) Charlotte, North Carolina rapper DaBaby is ending 2019 with a power move.
The hit rap star just inked a major deal with Universal Music Publishing Group.
From now on, UMPG will handle the administration for all of DaBaby’s music around the world.
The deal also covers music released by Charlotte-based record label South Coast Music Group, which DaBaby calls home.
“I feel great about my decision to join UMPG. I’m looking forward to working with their team and taking my vision to new heights,” DaBaby said of his new deal.
The agreement also covers the releases on his South Coast Music Group imprint, which was founded by entrepreneur Arnold Taylor.
Taylor is one step closer to realizing his vision of building a major record label/media company based in the Carolinas.
“We are excited about this joint venture with UMPG and their amazing staff and look forward to breaking new barriers in the TV/Films era,” said Arnold Taylor, CEO of South Coast Music Group.
The deal caps off a breakthrough year for DaBaby, whose #1 record
“Suge” is double Platinum-certified, with over 248 million streams to date.
The rapper also released two critically acclaimed albums this year, with Baby on Baby and Kirk.
