Danny Brown Reveals Release Date For His Q-Tip Produced Album ‘UKNOWHATIMSAYIN¿’

The “Dirty Laundry” spitter also announces a North American tour.

(AllHipHop News) Detroit emcee Danny Brown is ready to return with a new body of work. Brown’s uknowhatimsayin¿ is slated for release on October 4 via WARP.

“This is my version of a stand-up comedy album. Most of my close friends now aren’t rappers – they’re comedians and actors. So I wanted to create something that mixed humor with music. Something that was funny but not parody,” says Brown.

The first single off uknowhatimsayin¿ is titled “Dirty Laundry.” A Simon Cahn-directed music video for the track has also been released before the arrival of the studio LP.

Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest executive produced the project. Additional production was provided by Paul White, JPEGMAFIA, Flying Lotus, Standing on the Corner, and more. Run The Jewels, Obongjayar, JPEGMAFIA, and Blood Orange contributed features.

“There was no room for error. Q-Tip wanted me to go back to that ‘Greatest Rapper Ever’ era. I almost had to relearn how to rap again – an ego death type thing. He gave me this whole new outlook on music. I can’t go back to how I was before,” Brown explained.

Additionally, Danny Brown will hit the road for a 27-date North American tour. The journey begins in Atlanta at the Afropunk festival before closing out on November 19 in Montreal, Quebec.
