Daz of the recently reunited Hip-Hop group Dogg Pound is preparing
a movie called “My Summer Vacation,” which has a similar plot to
Ice Cube’s classic song of the same title from 1991’s Death Certificate.
“I shot it in St. Louis, and it’s a story like the Ice
Cube song,” Daz told AllHipHop.com. “But it’s based on real
stories from my homie and all of that.”
On Ice Cube’s song, four gang bangers from Los Angeles
land in Saint Louis in an attempt to take control of the local drug trade.
“It’s really going to be tight, and we are putting
it together with our own money,” Daz said.
In related news, in October, Daz Dillinger and Kurupt are set to headline their
own tour, titled "The Dogg Pound Tour".
The group will perform their older material, as well as new
material from up coming albums that have already been recorded.
“I got a whole album done right now, Dillinger and
Young Gotti: The Saga Continues,” Daz told AllHipHop.com. “And
I got the first Dillinger and Young Gotti coming back out in September,
with two new songs, interviews cut in between song, brand new pictures and everything.
Then the new Dillinger and Young Gotti album will come out, right after the
DPG album Snoop is putting together.”
In addition to the album he is planning with Kurupt and Snoop,
Daz is expecting his solo album being released on Jermaine Dupri’s So
So Def/Virgin imprint will hit big as well.
“Right now, I’m just putting it together and making sure
I have the tightest album of the year,” Daz said. “Me and Jermaine
have been putting it together, working hard. We got the beat knocking by me
and JD, and it doesn’t get any better than that right now.”
Both artists have projects
due out in the near future.
Kurupt is preparing to release his highly anticipated solo album
Against the Grain on August 23, 2005. The album features appearances by
Tupac Shakur, M.O.P, and Dave Hollister.
Daz Dillinger, is also preparing a new release Sampling
to the Beat Of The Drum on September 9, 2005.
