Russell Simmons and Stan Lathan’s Simmons Lathan
Media Group (SLMG) announced the details of the "Russell Simmons Presents:
Def Filmmakers Screening Series."
The series is sponsored by Motorola and Blackfilm.com
and will showcase a new urban film every other month at theaters and venues
in major cities across the United States.
The first film will be "F.E.D.S.," the
debut film from new Def Filmmaker Kwame Amoaku and will be screened at the Skirball
Center on the New York University campus on May 3.

the Simmons-Lathan tradition of bringing quality live events to an
urban/hip-hop audience," said Will Griffin, President and COO of SLMG.

creating a venue for talented urban filmmakers to showcase their original

filmmakers, and building the urban film market nationally."
