DJ champions from France, Canada, Switzerland,
and the United States came together December 10th: 2002 at Irving Plaza in New
York City to battle for the title of 2002 Allies All Star Beatdown World champion.
Craze and J-Smoke partyrocked before and throughout the event. The Jungle Drummer
was on hand to perform beats solo but also to collaborate with the turntablists.
The audience was packed with legendary and up
and coming Hip Hop DJs, producers and a few dancers: Steve Dee, DJ Ace the Crowd
Motivator, DJ Slyce, Roc Raida, ABgirl, PopMaster Fabel, Eclipse (Non-Phixion),
Naut Humon, Boogie Blind, Supa Dave, Excess, DJ Supreme, Fat Fingaz, Cutfucious,
Lenn Swann, DPOne, Esquire, Sugarcuts, 5th Platoon’s: Neil Armstrong, Kuttin
Kandi, Roli Rho, Daddy Dog, Merge and too many more to list!
The first ever Allies Beatdown champion, Canada’s
DJ D####, defended his title to the end! New Zealand’s P-Money was a no show
allowing D#### to advance to the 2nd round and take out Hawaii’s DJ Solution.
France’s DJ Troubl was hungry to win however and despite delays due to reported
complications with his passport over the weekend, he managed to make it to
NYC on the morning of the battle. Troubl, who is also the 2002 ITF Beat Juggling
Champion, quickly advanced to the finals after taking on Precision (2002 US
Beatdown Champ) as well as his fellow countryman, Netik (2x DMC World Supremacy
Champ).

Troubl returns to France with a new Stanton DJ
Craze SA 12 mixer, 2 Stanton STR8 100 turntables, a pair of Stanton KRK V8 studio
monitors, a Shure prize package, $2000 from the Allies + video royalties from
the video commemorating this event, a Rane TTM-56 Mixer and $500 worth of PNB
Nation clothing. DJ D#### also received $250 in PNB Nation clothing.
Judges included the Allies: Craze (3x DMC World
champ), Klever (2x DMC US champ), Infamous (ITF Beat Juggling World champ),
Spictakular (99 ITF Team World co-Champion), J-Smoke (ITF Team World co-Champion),
and Develop (98 ITF
Beat Juggling World champ) and Scratch Perverts: Tony Vegas (99 DMC World runner
up), Prime Cuts (2x ITF Scratch Champion) and Plus One (2001 DMC World Champ).
Performers included: Atlanta’s DJ Klever, the
Jungle Drummer, France’s DJ Kodh (2000 DMC World Supremacy & 2002 ITF Advancement
Champ), Plainfield NJ’s Mysterio aka the Harry Houdini of Hip Hop DJing, Mista
Sinista, who also received the Allies Lifetime Achievement Award; and England’s
Scratch Perverts (1999 DMC World Team Champions among the many titles these
witty characters hold).
