According to the New York Daily News, DMX and prosecutors have reached a deal
in the rapper’s road rage incident, which occurred at JFK Airport in June.
DMX will avoid jail time and admit responsibility for the scuffle, which started
over a parking spot.
Reports said DMX and a man were after the same parking spot in the area. The
rapper and an associate, Jackie Hudgins, chased the other driver with flashing
lights and sirens on his SUV and crashed through a toll both.
When police arrived, DMX was allegedly pulling the other driver out of the
car in an attempt to assault him.
A search of his car turned up a billy club and a small amount of crack cocaine.
He was later treated at a New York hospital and was subsequently charged with
menacing, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a weapon and driving
under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Last month DMX’s lawyers and the prosecution were close to a deal, but
it fell through when the rapper allegedly refused to admit responsibility for
the crime.
Under the terms of the deal,
DMX will serve no prison time and be charged with a misdemeanor offense.
