Durham, North Carolina rapper Twip has inked a deal with Iced Records, a newly
formed imprint.
"I didn’t want to run the risk of signing
with a major and getting shelved during my prime," Twip told AllHipHop.com.
Twip’s album Louder Than Words features
production by Midi Mafia and Megahertz and features Houston rapper Lil Flip.
"Twip had several major label deals on the
table but chose to go with an indie that would focus on his project as a priority,"
added Twip’s attorney Corey Broddie who brokered the deal.
A video for the first single "Stage Dive"
will start production in May.
"You have MC’s whose emphasis are how complex
they can rhyme, but I don’t worry about that because you might not catch what
I’m really trying to express," Twip added. "I’m an entertainer, but
I’m also a producer. So I don’t like to be tagged. You can call me whatever
you want. But you need to hear my music."
Louder Than Words is scheduled for a summer release. Fans can catch a preview
