(AllHipHop News) Former Eastside’s group member Big Tray Deee is releasing a new street literature book from prison.
Although Tray Deee is currently serving a 12 year sentence for attempted murder, the rapper has inked a new deal with LeNoir Publications to release the urban novel “Streetz Gon’ Cry.”
Big Tray Deee wrote “Streetz Gon’ Cry” alongside another incarcerated author named Anthony Barrow.
The two men were introduced to each other by Ice Cube’s cousin, JD.
According to reps for Tray Deee, the book “literally blends another component into West coast gangsta’ rap, detailing the real life scenario behind the lyrics.”
The novel is a fictional account of the King Crips and the Vernon Boys, who have an on-and-off rivalry, as they attempt to control the cocaine trade in the Crenshaw district of Los Angeles.
“My rap skills are just the icing on the cake,” Tray Deee told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “As an author now, I can give my fans and readers an even clearer understanding of the underworld activities of the Wild West with much more intrigue and detail.”
Co-author Anthony Barrow is no stranger the gangbanging lifestyle.
Barrow, who was a Crip growing up, was also a close friend with Ice-T in his childhood days.
Barrow is currently serving a lengthy sentence for executing a series of bank robberies.
“I am a fan of street lit,” Barrow said. “But I have yet to come across a book that fully exploits what goes on in these mean L.A. streets. I lived it so I figured who better to tell the real deal.”
