Celebrated producer, Easy Mo Bee, received an ASCAP Rhythm &
Soul Award for his production on "Runnin (Dyin’ to Live)" which featured
the late-great Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls.
The award is the second time Mo Bee has received an ASCAP award
for his groundbreaking work and this time around is being presented to him for
Soundtrack Song of the Year.
According to Easy, just the opportunity to see the two greats
rappers in the studio together was satisfaction enough. "It was unbelievable
and a one-of-a-kind experience to have both of them in the studio together.
That was definitely history in the making and I’m glad to have been a part of
it."
"Runnin" initially appeared in the 1995 compilation
album One Million Strong, released for the Million Man March. However,
it was recently remixed by Eminem for the soundtrack to the Oscar-nominated
documentary Tupac: Resurrection.
Currently, Easy Mo Bee is working on a Tupac spoken word album,
taken from ‘Pac’s poetry collection "The Rose That Grew From Concrete."
The collection should be released in September on Amaru/Koch Records.
