Foxy Brown Responds To Nicki Minaj Bowing Down To Lauryn Hill

“MAYBE Y’ALL B-TCHES JUST AREN’T WHO SHE CONSIDERS THE BAR”

(AllHipHop News) Throughout her career, Nicki Minaj has dealt with criticism over claims she does not pay homage to the female rappers that came before her.

The Queens spitter helped to end that critique at the TIDAL X: 1015 concert when she showed love to the legendary Lauryn Hill.

Nicki posted an Instagram video of her meeting Ms. Hill backstage, and the “Only” rapper even bowed down at the feet of the multiple Grammy winner.

Another well-known woman in Hip Hop appreciated Minaj’s act of respect for Lauryn.

Foxy Brown took to her own IG page to publicly acknowledge Nicki.

She wrote:

Laugh When They Say She Never Gives It Up To The “GREATS” Cuz She’s Humbly Bowed To Both#LBOOGIE (My Fav) & #FOXBOOGIEPublicly!?
Maybe Y’all Mad B-tches Just Aren’t Who She Considers “The Bar”➖
(FB Lingo lol?)
*FYI: Nic Knows I’d Never Thro My “WO” On No Collabo Wit Less Than Greatness Tho!??

For many years, Lil Kim fans were among the most vocal critics about Nicki supposedly not paying tribute to the Queen Bee.

Kim even referred to Nicki as a clone on her diss track “Black Friday.”

Foxy’s “maybe y’all mad b-tches just aren’t who she considers ‘The Bar'” could be perceived as a shot at Kim, but the Brooklyn native also shouted out her longtime rival last year.

“(Personal S**t Aside) Music Will Never See Another FOX & KIM Period!” stated the Fox.

During a 2013 interview with Hot 97, Nicki even mentioned Lil Kim – as well as Lauryn Hill, Foxy Brown, Remy Ma, Missy Elliott, and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes – as one of her all-time favorite female rap stars.

“With Foxy, Kim, and Remy, they were all from New York too. It’s no disrespect to any other female rappers, but those are the ones that I felt like, ‘Yeah, I could get into that,'” said Minaj at the time.
