Philadelphia rappers Freeway is gearing up to rock a city near you on the “More Freedom Tour.” To kick up the first leg of the concert series, the State Property bullets are stopping in the Midwest, performing at The Grog Shop in Cleveland, Ohio on Tuesday, November 9.
According to management, the duo will hit the following cities to rapid-fire ten-day run: Pittsburgh, Columbus, Lima, Toledo, and Atlanta. They are also planning to drop by a city in North Carolina on their way back to the City of Brotherly Love.
This tour comes off the heel of some life-changing news for the lyricist.
For Freeway, it is his first tour in several years. In 2015, the “What We Do” rapper was diagnosed with kidney failure. Four years later, in February 2019, he received a transplant that saved his life. Just as it seemed like he was adjusting to his new normal, he experienced the loss of his two children, Jihad in October 2020 and almost a year later to the date, his daughter Harmony in October 2021.
When asked if he was prepared to go out, so shortly after the death of his baby girl, he shared, “She would of have wanted me to keep going, that’s the type of person she is.”
This news also comes after his rematch battle was announced with the Ultimate Rap League.
There are talks that on the next leg of the tour that all of the State Property artists will reconnect and “rock the mic right.”
Something is percolating in that camp: Ye dishing out reparations, Jay-Z extends an olive branch to Dame during his speech at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and State Property is looking to link like Transformers and kill the stage.
And Hip-Hop fans get to be right up close and personal.
Sponsored by Freedom Thinkers Academy, The “More Freedom Tour” blends music, health, education, and culture. Tickets for this master class of rhyme and reason, featuring two of the most gifted emcees to bless the mic and truly represent the streets, can be purchased here.
More days to follow.
