(AllHipHop News) Rapper French Montana has warned “young rock stars” to avoid drugs as he paid tribute to Mac Miller.
The 26-year-old MC was pronounced dead by paramedics at his San Fernando Valle, California home on Friday (September 7).
After news broke, French took to social media to pay his respects.
He shared a video of a 2016 Fader documentary on Mac, with the clip focusing on his time in the studio with French, and late rapper Chinx, who died in 2015 during a drive-by shooting.
“This video just gave me the chills. I’m the only one still alive in this video, its sad, but thats the odds of making it out here. 1 out of 3” the “Unforgettable” hitmaker wrote on Instagram.

“Anyone who knows me knows I never co-sign or try to ride the wave or be cool at the expense of risk to the life of anyone of my people.
“This is a reality check for you young rockstars. RIP my brother.”
The footage shows Mac talking about his substance abuse issues as he mixes ‘sizzurp’ – a drink made from a mixture of codeine, Sprite, and Jolly Ranchers candy.
Mac is seen laughing off warnings from French about the amount he’s using, after the rapper’s hand can be seen shaking uncontrollably.
“Listen to me, I’m your brother. This right here, you’re going to miss a couple of shows,” the Moroccan-born star tells him.
Mac also spookily commented on the chances of suffering a fatal overdose in the 2016 documentary, insisting that would never be him.
“I’d rather be the corny, white rapper, than the drugged out mess who can’t even get out of his house. Overdosing is just not cool… you don’t go down in history because you overdosed… you just die,” he said.
Early reports suggested Miller had died from a suspected drug overdose, but an official cause of death has yet to be determined, as his autopsy on Saturday was inconclusive.
The final ruling will be made following the return of toxicology results.
