(AllHipHop News) When G-Eazy was a budding rapper, he received the best advice of his career from Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The creator of songs like “Him & I,” “No Limit” and “Me, Myself & I,” credited Diddy for his hit-making capabilities, as well as his insight into how to make records.
G-Eazy is known for his hard-partying ways, so it is forgivable that the rapper could not recollect when, or where Diddy gave the indispensable advice, but the words have stuck with him ever since.
“I forget how we originally met, but I really value our conversations He was talking to me one night and said that the best music is always the most vulnerable. Because it’s the most real, the most human, the most raw,” G-Eazy said.
“And for that reason the listener connects with it the deepest because it hits them here [the heart],” G-Eazy continued. “The job of an artist is to cut yourself open and spill out your soul.”
G-Eazy is also taking cues from Diddy’s Ciroc brand as he develops his own liquor brand, Stillhouse.
“You get what you give. That’s crucial, really, in anything in life,” G-Eazy explained. “You have to put effort and time and energy and thought into building something. I didn’t want to just put my name on and stand back; I wanted to be part of it.”
