(AllHipHop News) Gunfire interrupted a block party hosted by music executive J Prince Jr. over the weekend.
J Prince Jr. was hosting his birthday party in Houston’s Fifth Ward, which birthed the Geto Boys and his father’s legendary label, Rap-a-Lot Records.
Hundreds of people had gathered on Liberty Road to celebrate J Prince Jr.’s success when gunfire tore through the crowd striking a man and a young teenage girl.
“Several shots were fired. We have two individuals that were hit. One female she had a graze to her neck. She’s in the hospital in stable condition. The male was hit several times. He’s in the hospital in critical condition,” said HPD Executive Assistant Chief Troy Finner.
Police believe the girl will survive her injuries, however, the male is reportedly fighting for his life.
Police are asking witnesses to come forward.
J Prince Jr. is best known for discovering Drake, although he’s been locked in a battle with Cash Money Records to collect his share of royalties.
