A new film is being produced by Radar Pictures, titled “Hip-Hop Cops.”The movie is based on the real-life division of the New York Police Department that focuses on “Hip-Hop related crime.”Writer Eric Eason is developing the script and engaging in investigative work, because the NYPD denies the existence of the department.Radar Pictures is headed up by Ted Fields, one of the founders of Interscope Records.”The NYPD Rap Patrol is very real, even though the NYPD denies their existence,” a law enforcement source told AllHipHop.com. “They have been active for quite sometime and are responsible for several high profile arrests.”No release date has been attached to the movie.
