Conference, the world’slargest Hip Hop conference focused on solutions and the business
of Hip Hop music and culture, will take place at the Millennium
Hotel, 145 W. 44th Street in NYC from Tuesday, March 13th –
Friday, March 16th, 2001. The Co-Chairman for the Hip Hop Hall
of Fame Conference is Jeffrey Sledge, Sr. Director of Jive Records
and the Conference’s Vice Chairman is BET’s Tanisha
Jones.
Join a host of Hip
Hop pioneers and today’s hottest rap stars as well as industry
leaders and cultural icons as they gather to discuss many issues
affecting the Hip Hop community. With top MCs, DJs, producers,
video, film and music executives from major labels and media
including Sony, Columbia, Def Jam, Motown, Jive, The Source,
ASCAP, MTV and BET, The Hip Hop Hall of Fame Conference gives
solutions for those trying to get in the music business and
industry people trying to move up. This super conference has
over 25 panels with major topics on Hip Hop music and culture,
plus Sampling, Management, Law and Fashion workshops, even MC
and DJ workshops. Conference Highlights include the MC World

of Fame’s special events will occur on Friday, March 16th
at SIR Studios, 310 W. 52nd Street in NYC, from 7:00pm –
midnight. The star-studded events are as follows:
The Hip Hop Hall
of Fame Nomination Ceremony: The Hip Hop Hall of Fame will announce
the nominees who will be inducted into the institution later
this year.
The MC World Cup
Battle: BET.com’s “Ya’ Heard?” and The Hip
Hop Hall of Fame are in search of the country hottest unsigned
MCs to compete in the first annual MC World Cup. The finalists
will be flown to the home of Hip Hop, New York, on Friday March
16th from 7pm – midnight for the chance to battle for a
grand prize and the title of the country’s top MC.
Hip Hop Trivia Battle:
Columbia Records and The Hip Hop Hall of Fame ends a month long
radio promotion featuring Lil’ Bow Wow and The Hip Hop
Hall of Fame Board Game where finalists from around the country
will test their Hip Hop Knowledge with trivia questions from
the world’s first hip hop board game and compete for a
grand prize.
