Ice Spice recently sat down for an interview with Variety in which she explained why she spends a lot of her time in hotel rooms.
“The truth is, I’m everywhere,” she said. “I’m constantly moving,” she said. “I’m always moving because people are starting to notice me a lot, and things get weird and creepy really quickly. But I mostly be staying in hotel rooms; that’s really where I live.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Ice Spice talked about why she prefers to keep her inner circle small.
“I like the core people to be my producer [RiotUSA],” she said. “Any type of obstacles we face we try to get over, because I don’t want to start over with somebody.”
Ice Spice, real name Isis Naija Gaston, shared she’s inspired by stars who have close and consistent relationships with the people they work with.
“And I kind of look up to people like Taylor working with Jack Antonoff, and Billie Eilish with her brother, Finneas,” she added. “People like that, it’s super cool to me when there’s a team and there’s some consistency there.”
The rapper noted that her manager, James Rosemond Jr., helps her to filter out the requests she receives from people who want to work with her.
