(AllHipHop News) J. Cole can add his name to the list of artists who have given to Colin Kaepernick’s $1 million pledge to charity.
J. Cole chose to take Kaepernick up on the challenge and donated $10,000 to a Baltimore-based grassroots organization called Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle.
The nonprofit’s founder could not believe the news until he received an Instagram message from Colin Kaepernick himself, as well as a phone call from the NFL star’s manager.
“I completely freaked out. I was like ‘what?!’,” said Adam Jackson, CEO, and co-founder of Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle.
“I thought this was a prank call or someone messing with me,” Jackson continued.
The gift was real, and J. Cole’s funds will be used to support Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle’s mission to make a difference in politics, through education and Community organization.
