Ja Rule surrendered
to a Toronto court this morning to face assault charges, stemming from an altercation
at a nightclub.
Police refused
to release details on the incident, which took place June 5 at Tornoto’s La
Rouge nightclub.
They did say the
multi-platinum rapper was charged with assault causing bodily harm.
On July 1, Ja Rule
ran afoul of the law when he was pulled over for driving erratically in Manhattan.
A search of his
Mercedes Benz revealed a small amount of Marijuana. He was arrested due to an
outstanding warrant from 1996 for resisting arrest, fined $100 dollars and released.
The marijuana charges
were later dropped.
