Ja Rule was hit with a $4 million civil lawsuit by Canadian
man, just weeks after he pleaded guilty to an assault charge stemming from a
June 2003 incident at a nightclub in Toronto.
According to Rule’s lawyer Steve Skurka, the incident started
when Ja Rule was provoked by patron’s at the La Rouge nightclub. Reports suggested
that patrons taunted the rapper about his feud with rapper 50 Cent.
In the resulting altercation, Ja Rule punched the Brampton,
Ontario man in the eye.
Skurka said that even though the rapper pleaded guilty to the
charge, apologized and was subsequently fined $1,500, the judge denounced the
club patrons behavior.
In related news, a highly anticipated concert for South Korean
fans last Saturday (March 12) that also featured Bone Thugs-N-Harmony turned
sour, when Ja Rule canceled his appearance at the last minute.
Disappointed fans were given full refunds to the Ja Rule’s concert.
Bone Thugs-N-Harmony gave their first performance in Korea the
previous evening in Seoul’s Olympic Park.
