Rapper Jadakiss has denied an Internet-fueled rumor of a supergroup called The Untouchables involving himself, Nas, Nas protégé Lake, and Scarface.
According to the rumor, Nas went on Los Angeles radio station 103.9 The Beat and revealed the quartet had formed a group and would release an album by the end of the year. Jadakiss, however, said the collaborative project is news to him.
“This is my second time hearing this, man,” The Ruff Ryder told AllHipHop.com. “I don’t know, maybe they whipped up the plan without me?”
‘Kiss has worked with Nas before. Most notably they collaborated on “Show Discipline” from Jada’s debut album and the remix to “Made You Look.” Despite refuting the rumor, Jadakiss said he would be open to the project pending the circumstances involved.
“If the budget is right, if it can benefit the D-Block family, if everything is benefiting and the timing is right, I’d be more than happy to do it,” he said.
The rapper added: “I work with anybody. I don’t want to go down as one of them ni**as you could never get on a song with and all that. I try to just make good music and keep the relationship and keep the bridges up.”
Jadakiss’ next album, Kiss Of Death, is scheduled to arrive in stores June 15. Expect contributions on the album from D-Block, Swizz Beats and crooner Anthony Hamilton. The first single, “Time’s Up,” features Nate Dogg and production by Dr. Dre and Scott Storch.
