With Jay-Z and Beyoncé as your parents, it is probably expected that you get into the music business relatively early.
Think about it … Both of the Hip-Hop and R&B superstars started their careers as minors, making names for themselves in the industry before turning 18. So, it makes perfect sense that little Blue Ivy Carter is being groomed to be a bonafide force in entertainment.
The first move for her was the music play with “Brown Skin Girl”— which earned a BET Her, NAACP Image, and Soul Train Music Award— and now she, at eight-years-old, is moving into publishing.
Blue’s most recent project is an audiobook narration for the Academy Award-winning Hair Love, a story created by Matthew Cherry.
Cherry dropped the news on Instagram, sharing a snippet of the audio. He captioned: “Our Hair Love audiobook is live. Narrated by Blue Ivy Carter. Link in bio and available everywhere audiobooks are sold.”

As a franchise, Hair Love came out as a short film in 2019, won an Oscar at the 2020 Academy Awards, and was made into a children’s book in May with illustrations made by Vashti Harrison.
HBO Max is currently working on an animated TV show called Young Love based on characters from the award-winning. No word on if young Blue will do the voiceover.
