Jermaine Dupri’s dream
of bringing healthy food to Atlanta’s population will be realized tomorrow (June
6) when the mogul’s Cafe Dupri officially opens for business.
The 22 hour-a-day cafe is based in Atlanta and the menu features
healthy cuisine and desserts.
"It’s not your typical southern food," Dupri told
AllHipHop.com. "I opened [Cafe Dupri], because I believe that young people
need to eat better."
The cafe is the mogul’s latest addition to his growing
business portfolio, which includes the So So Def Record label, a film division,
the 3 Vodka liquor brand (which is distilled from Soy) and other ventures.
Dupri revealed to AllHipHop.com that his business empire will
soon include his own hotel.
"It’s time for me to live out my dreams of being the Donald
Trump of Atlanta," Dupri said. "Once [Cafe Dupri] jumps off, then
I am opening a small, but hot hotel called Hotel D and then the So So Def store
where you can buy everything from the Afroman dolls to jackets, t-shirts everything
from So So Def that people want."
On the music side, Dupri is planning his first album titled
Jermaine Dupri Presents: Young, Fly & Flashy Vol. 1. The compilation
album will be Dupri’s first full length release as President of Urban
Music of Virgin Records.
The first video for the single will be “Gonna Getchu.”
The video for the single already has major buzz because of some
steamy scenes with girlfriend and pop icon, Janet Jackson.
Confirming the chatter Dupri said: "The first video is
definitely a must see. Nelly’s going to be in it as well as Janet like you’ve
never seen her before."
Jermaine Dupri
Presents: Young, Fly & Flashy Vol. 1 is slated to hit stores on July
19.
