John Singleton’s Daughter Gets Allowance From Estate To Continue Her Education

A judge has approved a request from John Singleton’s 21-year-old daughter, who needed money to finish her education to make her dad proud.

(AllHipHop News) John Singleton’s 21-year-old daughter Cleopatra has been granted a monthly allowance from her late dad’s estate.

The “Boyz n the Hood” writer/director passed away on April 28, more than a week after being placed in a coma after suffering a stroke.

Following his passing, his mother Sheila Ward was named the executor of the estate.

Cleopatra filed a petition requesting a monthly allowance of $2,778 because she claims her dad used to cover her bills and expenses because she’s a student.

She also asked for a one-time payment of $4,150 to cover her study abroad program.

TMZ.com confirmed a judge signed off on the request, granting Cleopatra the full requested amount from John’s estate, which is estimated to be worth upwards of $35 million.

The estate, which is yet to be divided, also got a hefty boost back in October, as Sony Pictures agreed to pay $515,472 to the late director’s film company, New Deal Productions, following an audit for money from the 2001 flick “Baby Boy,” which stars Tyrese Gibson, Taraji P. Henson and Snoop Dogg.
