The fallout from Kanye West’s controversial commas about George Floyd and Jewish people has finally hit home – literally.

Earlier today, a well-known mural dedicated to the embattled rapper was covered up. The 14-foot mural of Ye was covered over with solid black paint by the artwork’s creator, Jason Peterson.

The once beautiful artwork at Fulton Market was covered in a blotch of solid black paint and a message that read, “We need better role models.”

Peterson told local outlet Block Club of Chicago that the mural is covered up at the request of the building’s Jewish owner.

Another mural of the rapper in the city was to face, with a message that simply read “trash.”

Over the course of this month, the “Stronger” rapper has made a string of divisive and offensive comments about Jewish people on social media and during interviews.

The comments have cost him all of his significant deals. Bosses at Adidas severed ties with West and called off their Yeezy fashion partnership, while Creative Artists Agency (CAA) officials dropped him as a client.

Luxury fashion house Balenciaga ended its partnership with the 45-year-old, and officials at MRC Entertainment announced that they would not release a completed documentary about him.

On Thursday, the hip-hop star returned to Instagram and didn’t appear to express any regret.

“Ari Emanuel,” he began, referring to Endeavor entertainment agency boss Ari Emanuel. “I lost 2 billion dollars in one day. And I’m still alive. This is love speech. I still love you. God still loves you. The money is not who I am. The people is who I am (sic).”

While West didn’t comment any further on the controversy, he did share a meme that reads, “Ye has reportedly cut ties with Kanye West.”
