Kanye West’s ‘Jesus Is King’ Debuts At No. 1 With Biggest Streaming Week Of His Career

(AllHipHop News) There was a lot of interest in Kanye West’s latest body of work. Jesus Is King was met with mixed reviews, but the LP earned the Chicago native his 9th consecutive #1 album.

Jesus Is King premiered atop the Billboard 200 with 264,000 equivalent album units. The project pulled in 196.9 million audio streams which is the highest one-week streaming total in West’s career.

Those 197 million streams are the fourth-highest opening week total in 2019. Jesus Is King just trails Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding (365 million), Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next (307 million), and Taylor Swift’s Lover (226 million). 

With 9 straight No. 1 albums, West ties Eminem for the most consecutive Number Ones. He has also joined Eminem, Rolling Stones, Garth Brooks, Madonna, and Drake in sixth place on the list of most Billboard 200 chart-toppers.
