(AllHipHop News) Kendrick Lamar is being immortalized in an upcoming book. Journalist Marcus J. Moore announced he is working on a K. Dot biography titled The Butterfly Effect: How Kendrick Lamar Ignited the Soul of Black America.
“Some big news I’ve been eager to share: I’ve signed with [Touchstone Books] to write the cultural biography of Kendrick Lamar,” tweeted Moore.
Since his arrival on the national scene in 2011, Lamar has released four critically acclaimed albums and won 12 Grammy awards. The Butterfly Effect will cover K. Dot’s good kid, m.A.A.d city, To Pimp a Butterfly, and DAMN LPs as well as the impact of the Compton wordsmith’s work.
“My book details the artist’s coming of age as an MC, how he helped resurrect two languishing genres (bebop and jazz), his profound impact on a racially fraught America, and his emergence as the bonafide King of Rap,” Moore told Pigeons & Planes.
According to the author, he is interviewing people around Kendrick. Apparently, the TDE emcee’s team is aware of the book.
