(AllHipHop News) Philips Arena, home of the Atlanta Hawks, is getting a $192.5 million renovation.
The refurbished sports and entertainment venue will include The SWAG Shop, a barbershop owned by local emcee Michael “Killer Mike” Render.
“I’m very happy that the front porch of the Hawks is going to be host to a SWAG Shop,” said the Run The Jewels member in a statement. “It really is like a dream coming true because now kids are going to be coming down early just to hang out in my shop, buy a t-shirt, get a haircut and watch the game.”
Construction at Phillips Arena began on June 20 and is scheduled to be completed during the 2018/2019 season.
Killer Mike becomes the latest Hip Hop star to open a business inside a high traffic location in the city.
Fellow ATL rap legend Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges has a Chicken+Beer restaurant at Hartsfield-Jackson airport.
Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter’s 40/40 Club is located in the busy air travel center as well.
