Kimora Lee Simmons’

self-help book for women, Fabulosity: What It Is and How to Get It, hits

shelves today.

The 272-page book

contains 16 laws of success, as well as personal tips and empowering stories

to help women from all walks of life succeed.

Simmons, president

and creative director of Baby Phat, said she aims to show women how to combine

glamour with professionalism, business ambition, confidence and values in the

empowering new book.

"I wrote

this book to hopefully inspire other women to tap into their own fabulosity,"

Simmons told AllHipHop.com. "I believe all women owe it to themselves to

be sexy, strong, independent thinkers."

A former runway

model, Simmons was born in St. Louis to a Black father and a Japanese-Korean

mother. At age 13, she became a muse for Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld collection.

Simmons later

helped her husband, Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons, launch the Baby Phat women’s

clothing line, a division of Phat Farm, which Russell launched in 1992.

In January 2004,

Russell sold Phat Fashions, which housed the Phat Farm and Baby Phat brands,

to clothing company Kellwood for $140 million.
