Lil Nas X’s’ “Old Town Road” With Billy Ray Cyrus Tops Songs Of The Summer Chart

The Country-Trap rhymer once again stamps his name in the history books.

(AllHipHop News) It comes as no surprise that “Old Town Road” was crowned Song Of The Summer for 2019. Lil Nas X’s smash closes out at #1 on Billboard’s list of the most popular tunes of the season.

“Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus led the chart for the entire 14 weeks from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Khalid’s “Talk” (#3) and Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts” (#5) also made it into the Top 5 based on sales, streaming, and airplay totals during the time period.

“Sunflower” by Post Malone & Swae Lee (#8), “Suge” by DaBaby (#9), and “No Guidance” by Chris Brown & Drake (#10) were among the top songs of summer 2019. Drake has had the top Summer Song twice in the last four years: 2016’s “One Dance” and 2018’s “In My Feelings.”

“Old Town Road” spent 19 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Hot 100, setting a new record in the chart’s 61-year history. Lil Nas X is pushing his next single titled “Panini” off the 7 EP. The 20-year-old southerner performed the track at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.
