(AllHipHop News) “Could care less bout sum $$ if I’m not happy. Hate this sh*t. I love y’all but this sh*t won’t b continuing as long as y’all thought,” tweeted Lil Tecca on September 5. Based on those tweets, the 17-year-old newcomer seems to be considering leaving the music business. If he does, Tecca will at least walk away with a Number One on the Top Rap Albums chart.
We Love You Tecca opened with 68,000 equivalent album units. That total was enough to give the Queens, New York representative the top-selling Hip Hop effort of the week. 64,000 of those units were from streaming and only 4,000 from pure sales.
Besides topping the Rap Albums chart, We Love You Tecca is also #1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Other projects to reach the pinnacle of both rankings in 2019 include 21 Savage’s I Am > I Was, A Boogie wit da Hoodie’s Hoodie SZN, Nipsey Hussle’s Victory Lap, Lil Nas X’s 7, and Young Thug’s So Much Fun.
Tecca’s “Ransom” was a huge hit. The single peaked at #4 on the Hot 100 chart. It has also led the On-Demand Streaming Songs, Streaming Songs, Rap Streaming Songs, and R&B Hip-Hop Streaming Songs charts. Five tracks from We Love You Tecca are on this week’s Hot 100 chart.
