(AllHipHop News) Rap star Logic may be a Grammy award-winning artist now, but his hustle to get there has caused the rapper some trouble.
Logic is accused of posing as a high-school student from Glen Cove High School, in order to shoot the video for his single Super Mario World.”
According to IndieWire, Logic, his videographer and a cameraman approached Carolina Salguero, the director of the Mary A. Whalen oil tanker, which operates as a non-profit to benefit victims of hurricane disasters.
Salguero said she received an email asking for permission to shoot the video on the 90-year-old tanker, but the videographer said it was for a high school project, in order to get around paying the $10,000 it would normally cost to shoot a full day at the location.
Salguero said she believed the group’s story that Logic was a local high school artist shooting a project, even though he was already signed to Def Jam.
“I looked at Logic; he’s so scrawny, I mistook him as a high school student,” Salguero said. “I thought the videographer was his dad, graying hair at the temples, and his friend was dressed in the beat-up Super Mario costume, I was busy and trusted I was helping high school students.”
Reps for Logic are apparently attempting to make good and send the non-profit a payment for shooting Super Mario World,” which is approaching 11 million views on YouTube.
