New to this year’s Spring Massive Festival

is the first ever Snowed Out All-Star Weekend April 5-7, 2002. The three-day

event celebrates hip-hop, snowboarding and the fusion of these two cultures.

Headlined by a concert with rapper Ludacris

and a Pro Halfpipe Jam expected to include such notables as Danny Kass, J.J.

Thomas, Todd Richards and Chad Otterstrom, Snowed Out will surely be a highlight

of Spring Massive.

"Snowed Out is the perfect representation

of the elements of urban lifestyle and snowboarding reflected in today’s

culture," said Chris Searles, Breckenridge Ski Resort Special Events Manager.

"Throughout the festival participants will be invited to experience a number

of activities from after-hours parties, to on the snow DJ’s and snowboard

competitions, to photo exhibitions. The weekend is designed to ensure that there

will be entertainment offered continuously in a number of different formats

and venues."

Other notable components of Snowed Out include

the Kick-Off Party and DJ Expo at Cecilia’s on Friday. A Block Party Expo, Dirty

South BBQ, Hip-Hop Immortals Photo Exhibition and Snow Deck Demo Course add

to Saturday’s festivities at the base of peak 8. That evening, Ludacris

performs live at the TenMile Room in the Village at Breckenridge followed by

an After Party featuring The Beatnuts at Cecilia’s. The weekend wraps up on

Sunday with the Halfpipe ‘Chicken ‘N Waffles’ Brunch Buffet in the Bergenhof

at Peak 8.
