Manager Steven J. Rifkind Confirms DMX Is Still Alive Following False Reports

Luenell’s “my friend is gone” post played a part in misinformation spreading online.

“RIP DMX” is one of the top trending topics on Twitter at the moment. Once again, social media has rushed to announce the passing of Earl “DMX” Simmons before the rap icon’s family has confirmed the news.

DMX’s manager, Steve Rifkind, had to go on Instagram to inform the public that the It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot album creator is still alive. The Loud Records co-founder also asked people to stop spreading inaccurate information.

“Everybody, please stop posting with these rumors. DMX is still alive. Yes, he is on life support, but please, it’s not helping anybody by having them see these false rumors,” stated Rifkind. “Let the family relax for a night. You’ll be hearing a statement from the family sometime tomorrow.”

DMX reportedly underwent brain function tests on Wednesday, and the 50-year-old emcee is still in a coma. His relatives are said to be contemplating a decision about his condition.

Comedian Luenell is catching a lot of heat online for posting a “rest in peace” message about X on her Instagram Story before apologizing for the mistake. She wrote, “When your spirit leaves and your organ fails you, the body becomes just a shell. One becomes wrapped in the Lord’s arms. That’s what ‘I’ call gone. I’m sorry to all.”

Earlier this week, Claudia Jordan also had to apologize for prematurely mourning DMX’s death. The Cocktails With Queens host originally tweeted “Rest in Paradise DMX” before having to tell her 178,000 followers “I’m sorry.”
