XM Satellite Radio channel 66 RAW has added to
their on-air talent roster three legends in hip-hop. Marley Marl, Pete Rock
& DJ Premier have added the hip-hop show Future Flavas, which will air Friday’s
and Sunday nights.
Future Flavas started back in the mid ‘90’s
on New York radio, WQHT Hot 97, and has been innovative and groundbreaking in
showcasing the newest and hottest in underground hip hop.
"I am excited to have three icons in hip-hop
join the company," Program Director Leo G. told AllHipHop.com. "These
guys bring a whole new dimension to 66 Raw, being as though they are all such
pioneers."
Grammy award winner Marley Marl aka DJ Legend
is one of the most influential producers in the hip-hop history. He has produced
timeless classics such as "Eric B for President," by Eric B. and Rakim,
"Around the Way Girl," for LL Cool J and and hundreds of others.
Pete Rock entered the scene as a DJ on the “In
Control Rap Show” with Marley Marl. Pete Rock is probably most famous for
Pete Rock and CL Smooth, the classic duo that produced hits such as "T.R.O.Y.,"
"Straighten It Out," and others.
DJ Premier, one half of Gangstarr is one of
the most sought after underground producer in the game. Primo has produced artists
from Nas to Sinead O’Conner.
XM Satellite Radio’s uncensored hip-hop
channel, 66 RAW, is one of the five urban channels provided to XM under Radio
One’s Satellite Division, Satellite One.
"XM just celebrated it’s one year anniversary,"
Leo G. continued. "We have so much more in store, there is a lot more to
come."
