There is currently a 15-track album titled Destiny’s Child: The Untold Story Presents Girls Tyme listed on streaming services. The R&B/Hip Hop group then known as Girls Tyme would eventually evolve into the platinum-selling Destiny’s Child.
Beyoncé Knowles, LaTavia Roberson, Kelly Rowland, Támar Davis, Nikki Taylor, and Nina Taylor were the original members of Girls Tyme. The Houston-based ensemble reached a national audience when they performed on the popular television competition series Star Search. That TV moment was immortalized in Beyoncé’s “Flawless” music video.
Destiny’s Child would later rotate several members before finally settling on the trio of Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle Williams. Mathew Knowles served as the manager for both Girls Tyme and Destiny’s Child.
“I still officially manage [Destiny’s Child]. Every day I have the responsibility of licensing. I have a lot of responsibilities that folks don’t know,” explained Mathew on the Tamron Hall talk show in October. He was also involved in his daughter’s solo career until Beyoncé parted ways with him after the release of I Am … Sasha Fierce.
In addition to The Untold Story Presents Girls Tyme album, Mathew Knowles released a book titled Destiny’s Child: The Untold Story. The Music World Entertainment founder has also written other works such as The Emancipation of Slaves Through Music, Racism From The Eyes of a Child, and Public Relations and Media PR Strategies for the Digital Age.
