(AllHipHop News) Meek Mill is currently incarcerated in a Pennsylvania state prison, but the Philadelphia-bred rap star is still giving back to others. Colin Kaepernick announced the “Young Black America” spitter is the latest celebrity to take part in the former NFL quarterback’s #10For10 initiative.
“Despite my brother [Meek Mill’s] current circumstances, he continues to stay connected in the community of Philly. He pledged to go #10for10 on my #MillionDollarPledge. We’re both donating $10k for a combined $20k to Youth Service Inc. Keep staying strong Meek, we love you brother!” tweeted Kaepernick on Monday morning.
Stephen Curry, Jesse Williams, Kevin Durant, Snoop Dogg, Jhené Aiko, Chris Brown, Nick Cannon, T.I., and Joey Bada$$ have also given funds for #10For10. Colin Kaepernick matched each donation with a personal contribution of $10,000.
Since 2016, Kaepernick’s Million Dollar Pledge has contributed to over 40 organizations such as Communities United By Police Reform, School On Wheels, Angel by Nature, Mother’s Against Police Brutality, Communities United for Police Reform, and J. Cole’s The Dreamville Foundation.
