Michael Jordan Names Jordan Brand Rep Drake As His Favorite Rapper Right Now (VIDEO)

IS MJ’S HIP HOP PREFERENCE BASED ON MUSIC OR BUSINESS?

(AllHipHop News) Back in 2015, Genius reported that Chicago Bulls great Michael Jordan was still the most name-dropped basketball player in rap music.

Jordan is clearly a favorite b-ball reference for rappers. But which rhymer is the 5-time league MVP favoring at the moment?

“Right now I’m more of a Drake fan,” MJ told the children at his Flight School basketball camp.

It is not clear if Jumpman 23’s preference is based on Drizzy’s music or if it’s because the Toronto native is in business with the Air Jordan brand.

“Growing up I’m sure we all idolized this guy. He goes by the name of Michael Jordan. So today I came to Portland, and I officially became inducted into the Team Jordan family,” Drake announced at a 2013 concert.

Last year, N.O.R.E. set the internet on fire when he told a story on the Rap Radar podcast about Jordan allegedly saying “f-ck rap” at a Def Jam party in New York.

A representative for the sports icon responded to the statement by saying, “MJ wasn’t at this party, doesn’t know N.O.R.E., and is a fan of ALL music. Drake is in his brand, and Nelly is a partner of his with the Charlotte Hornets.”

N.O.R.E. fired back with visual proof that Jordan was photographed at the 2002 Mariah Carey album release event.
