(AllHipHop News) Unlike previous years, there weren’t that many complaints about the winner of the Best Rap Album Grammy award this year. Kendrick Lamar took home the honor for his critically acclaimed DAMN by beating out Jay-Z’s 4:44, Rapsody’s Laila’s Wisdom, Tyler, The Creator’s Flower Boy, and Migos’ Culture.
Migos also lost the Best Rap Performance award to Kendrick. The Recording Academy chose the TDE emcee’s “Humble” over the trio’s “Bad And Boujee.”
It turns out Migos feel they should have won at least one of those nominations. The Atlanta-based group talked about their Grammy losses during an interview with NME.
“They cheated us,” said Offset. Quavo added, “There was nothing bigger than the f-cking Culture album this whole last year, they’re scared to handle the three-headed monster… Ooh! but we’ll be back next year.”
Migos released Culture II on January 26. The album opened at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 199,000 album-equivalent units.
