(AllHipHop News) Migos are set to drop their third studio album Culture II on January 26. Takeoff, Offset, and Quavo did an interview with Beats 1 Radio’s Ebro Darden to talk about the project.
The Atlanta-based rap group also chatted about Pharrell producing “Stir Fry.” They then discussed the creation of the “MotorSport” single with Nicki Minaj and Cardi B.
“We were in New York when we recorded that. Murda [Beatz] was in the studio making beats and he came over and just dropped that thing off, and we went straight in,” said Quavo.
He added, “I had the song already recorded. I recorded it in New York. Everybody did their verses everywhere, so I just ended up calling Nicki like, ‘I think you should get on this record.’ She got on the record. I told Cardi, ‘I think you should get on this record.’ She said, ‘Hell yeah, it’s hard.’ She did the verse. It’s magic ever since then.”
Migos earned two Grammy nominations for this year’s ceremony. The Quality Control representatives are up for Best Rap Album (Culture) and Best Rap Performance (“Bad And Boujee”).
When asked who was there toughest competition for the Best Rap Album award, Offset insisted he’s not concerned about anyone beating his crew. Quavo later admitted Jay-Z’s 4:44 and Kendrick Lamar’s Damn had a good chance to win as well.
