Missy Elliott Was Hospitalized Before Her Super Bowl Performance

(AllHipHop News) Missy Elliott has sensationally revealed she was in hospital the night before her appearance during Katy Perry’s Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2015. The “Work It” star and Lenny Kravitz served as special guests during Katy’s 13-minute performance at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona in February 2015. Missy shared footage of her stage entrance and some of her performance to “Get Ur Freak On,” and revealed in the caption that she had been in hospital shortly beforehand. “#Fact no1 knew I was in the hospital the night before I had to perform at the SuperBowl & when I heard the beginning of Get Ya Freak On playing I was SO SHOOK (nervous face emoji) I said Lord I can’t turn back now God pulled me through I will NEVER forget this night & I’m 4ever HUMBLED (sic),” she wrote, followed by praying and love heart emojis. She didn’t specify why she was in hospital. However, she was diagnosed with autoimmune illness Graves’ disease in 2008. She told People in 2011 that she no longer needed medication to manage the condition, which affects the thyroid. “I’ve been off medication for about a year and I’m completely managing the condition through diet and exercise,” she said. During her appearance, Missy performed a medley of “Get Ur Freak On” and “Work It” before going into “Lose Control.” The 2015 mini-concert was watched by 118.5 million viewers, making it the most-watched Halftime Show of all time.
