Music Execs, Pro Athletes & Businessmen Launch Big Timers Foundation To Mentor Kids In Atlanta

Greg Street and Big Timers

The Big Timers Foundation consists of former NFL stars, MMA fighters, and music business executives who have teamed up to mentor kids in Atlanta and keep them on the right track.

A group of music industry executives and athletes have teamed up to form a new collective to help at-risk youth in Atlanta.

DJ Greg Street and Russell “Block” Spencer are heading up a new non-profit organization known as the Big Timers.

So far, members include Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl champion Veron Hayes, former college football star turned motivational speaker Inky Johnson, UFC fighter Cody Durden, Bellator MMA champ Douglas Lima, and Scott Barbour of Barbour Orthopedics.

The Big Timers works with children and young adults between the ages of 12-21. They provide coaching and training to the participants in their non-profit. After going through their program, the kids are offered paid, 6-week internships in the industry of their choice.

The organization recently linked up with Atlanta’s Police Athletic League, as well as Walmart and several local organizations to host a toy drive over the Christmas holiday.

“I’m really excited about this, Block and I have been working for the past year to roll out the Big Timers Foundation to mentor young kids and show them how to be successful at life and start giving them access to people who have already done it and teach them the trials and tribulations about making that journey,” said Scott Barbour of Barbour Orthopedics.

The Christmas toy drive will not just be a one-off event. The Big Timers, whose motto is “No Exxxcuses,” will use their resources and connections to help hundreds of children throughout the year.

The group is planning mentoring sessions and other events to help the kids during 2021.
