(AllHipHop News) Netflix is ready to take a behind-the-scenes look at Hip Hop culture with a new documentary series. The 8-part Rapture features Nas, T.I., 2 Chainz, Logic, Rapsody, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Dave East, Just Blaze, and G-Eazy.
The Mass Appeal produced program will explore the artists’ family lives, join them in the studio, and journey with the performers on tour. Nas says in the trailer, “Hip Hop is about being truthful.”
Sacha Jenkins, Ben Selkow, Geeta Gandbhir, Steven Caple Jr., Marcus A. Clarke, and Gabriel Noble directed episodes of the show. Mass Appeal and Jenkins were also connected to the documentaries Fresh Dressed and Burn, Motherf-cker, Burn!
“Way back, when Hip Hop culture was in its gestational phase, the powerful message therein didn’t go much further than the five boroughs of New York City. Today, rap music is the heartbeat of Mother Earth, and Netflix is the embodiment of the eyes from which she sees,” stated Jenkins.
Rapture is scheduled to debut March 30 on Netflix.
