In addition to
a costarring role in the upcoming movie "The Longest Yard," Nelly
is also scheduled to release the movie’s star-studded soundtrack through his
Derrty Ent. Imprint on Universal Records.
The St. Louis rapper
serves as executive producer for the movie soundtrack, set to release on May
17. The album features Eminem, D-12, Lil Wayne, Akon, Murphy Lee and also introduces
new Derrty Ent. artists Jung Tru and King Jacob.
The lead single
from the album will be Nelly’s Jazze Pha-produced "Errtime."
The soundtrack
complements the Paramount Pictures movie "Longest Yard," which is
a remake of a 1974 comedy of the same name.
The movie follows
an imprisoned pro quarterback, played by Adam Sandler, and his former college
coach, Burt Reynolds, as they try to
assemble a football team of inmates.
Nelly plays a convict
football player by the name of Earl Maggit. "The Longest Yard," also
starring Chris Rock, hits theaters on Memorial Day
weekend.
Nelly is also
preparing his nationwide "Sweat/Suit: Up Close & Personal" tour,
for which he has enlisted the help of Fat Joe, T.I., Murphy Lee, Ali and Kyjuan.
The tour kicks
off on March 19 in Cleveland, Ohio.
