Waxploitation Records

will do their part to help fight against the Genocide that is taking place in

Sudan, by releasing an album and dedicating the proceeds of the charity.

Genocide in

Sudan

includes donated tracks by Jurassic 5, X-ecutioners, Jill Scott,

System of a Down, Yoko Ono, Gorillaz, DJ Spooky, Danger Mouse & Murs, T####

and The Maytals and others.

More than half

of the album contains exclusive songs and rarities.

“We’re

trying to address two things with this CD,” says Waxploitation CEO Jeff

Antebi, the album’s executive producer. “The first is to get the

United Nations to declare the ongoing atrocities Genocide, so that real action

can take effect to stop what is obviously an ‘ethnic cleansing’

taking place, in violation of the 1948 Geneva Convention. The second is to raise

money for the dire relief situation effecting over 1 million innocent civilians

who might die from starvation and disease if aid does not reach them right now.”

According to the

UN, the conflict in Sudan has created the world’s worst humanitarian crisis,

with more than one million people driven from their homes and up to 50,000 people

killed by government supported militias known as “Janjaweeds.”

The systematic

rape of women and the murder of children have been widely reported. Troops cannot

intervene in the conflict until the UN officially labels the situation Genocide.

All of the profits

from the CD will donated to the United Nations Refuge Agency and UNICEF (www.unhcr.ch

and www.UNICEF.org ).

Genocide in

Sudan

will be available at most music retailers nationwide.
