Ruthless
Records is set to drop a collection of unreleased songs
on March 26th, by the late Eazy
E, as well as a DVD. The
EP, titled "The Real Godfather Of Gangsta Rap,"
contains 8 unreleased songs produced by longtime friend
and Ruthless producer Rhythm D. The EP will be released
in March 2002, coinciding with the anniversary of Eazy
E’s death from AIDS.
In May of
this year, fans petitioned Ruthless Records to release
some of Eazy E’s unreleased material. Sources state that
there may be upwards of over 70 unused tracks by the West
Coast pioneer, some of them rumored to be collaborations,
ranging from rap artists to rocker Axl Rose.
A DVD companion
will also be released March 26th to honor Eazy. Legend,
which will include an interactive timeline, photo gallery,
videos (For Tha Love Of Money, Neighborhood Snipaz and
eight others), a timeline, TV appearance, and interviews
with other members of NWA.
