Outkast and Busta Rhymes have both teamed up with the NBA, as Andre 3000 and Big Boi will perform at the All-Star Game and Busta will give a concert after a game this Friday (Jan. 23).
Andre 3000 and Big Boi will perform their respective hit singles (“The Way You Move” and “Hey Ya”) during the player introductions. Currently, the group occupies the number one (Andre 3000) and two (Big Boi) positions on the Billboard 100 singles chart. In addition, their triple-platinum selling album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below has regained the number one spot on the charts this week.
While the Atlanta duo resides on the Billboard charts, fellow rapper Busta Rhymes will invade their terrain as he is set to perform after a Hawks game this Friday (Jan 23). The rambunctious rapper’s performance will be free to those who attend the game versus Stephon Marbury and the New York Knicks.
The N.B.A. All-Star Weekend will take place in Los Angeles next month. The game is scheduled for February 15 and will begin at 8 p.m. The Atlanta Hawks play the New York Knicks at Philips Arena this Friday. Tip-off is at 7:30, with the concert to follow 20 minutes following the game.
