(AllHipHop News) Jesus Is King, the Gospel-inspired LP by Kanye West, may have gotten an endorsement from the Trump family, but one Atlanta-area preacher is telling his congregation Ye’s album does not excuse his political rhetoric.
Earlier this year, Pastor Jamal Bryant had welcomed West to New Birth Missionary Baptist for a Sunday Service performance. However, Bryant offered a message from the pulpit and on his Instagram page that made it clear he does not support the Chicago-raised rhymer’s embrace of Trumpism.

Bryant wrote in the caption:
Reading in between the lines… [Kanye West’s] project is incredible but his politics are indigestible. The message after the music is just as important. Jesus is king and Trump is a jester. Our theology doesn’t match this [administration’s] politics…the revolution won’t be televised.
West admitted he did not vote for Donald Trump for president. The G.O.O.D. Music founder did begin standing next to the divisive Republican almost immediately after he was elected in 2016, and West continues to back Trump to this day.
Pastor Bryant previously announced New Birth planned to redirect Kanye West’s donation to the church to Morris Brown College. The rapper’s late mother, Donda West, was a professor at the Atlanta institution.
